Siding is for the birds…and our work crew (Part 1)

Last year while we were in Alaska, we received a phone call that some expert driver had caused a wreck in front of Doug’s house and pushed a parked car into the side of the house. Luckily it was not as bad as it sounds, and the insurance paid for us to reside the entire street side of Doug’s house. When it finally cooled off, Doug decided it was time to fix it.

Doug, Dad, Josh, Andrew, Shawn and I all got down and dirty as we replaced the old siding and put up hardie plank/board. It was quite a work in progress… and it took us a few days more than we planned.

At the end of Day 3 = we treated my family to Dat Dog! Ashley joined us after work!

We were so exhausted. Thank you all so much for helping! We have amazing friends and family.

Happy Birthday to Kenny (and me!)

Today is my birthday, but we are actually going to celebrate Kenny’s birthday as it happened in November! ha.

We received word of a surprise birthday party for one of our volleyball teammates, Kenny, and knew we had to be there. It was at Rock n Bowl and it was especially special because Kenny was turning the big 6-0! First of all, you would never think he was turning 60. Overall, we were so pumped to be invited. Rockin Doopsie was playing that night and he had no idea there would be 150 people there to yell “surprise” when he arrived!

There were two cakes present…a jello shot cake and a cookie cake. Both awesome.

There were so many people there for Kenny…it was really amazing.

When he walked in and we all yelled surprise, he was so incredibly shocked. This picture shows him before he realized what was going on.

And then the party started. He said hello to most everyone and then got pulled up on stage with Rockin Doopsie!

And he sang him happy birthday…

We did manage to steal Kenny for a team picture (sans Shawn P because he is lame)…

Seriously….look at all the people and I was near the front…

We had a great time. I hope Kenny knows how loved he clearly is. My only hope is that I am fun enough to celebrate my 60th birthday out at a bar with a few hundred people and I can shake it like Kenny. Love you Ken!

Halloween: Krispie Kreme Style

I think Jamie B, who knows all about Nola, posted on FB that Krispie Kreme was giving away a free donut if you went to the store in costume. I told Ashley, Sarah, Doug and Andrew and we suddenly had plans for Halloween!

All the girls had gone to spin class and raced home to change in order to get that one free donut!

The Kreme was pretty hopping when we got there. We got in line and got our donuts.

Then we hung out and ate them…

It was a wild night…

 

For some reason, the boys did not dress up. Lame. 

Even though they are lame, we did share our donuts…

Happy Mardi Gras…I mean Halloween!

Happy Mardi Gras to all my loved ones! I hope you are having a fabulous day catching coconuts or riding rides in Disney. Either way, you rock.

Back to the past…This past Halloween we had fun decorating pumpkins, bottles and the cats.



I must admit it was odd spray painting an pumpkin orange…  

Then we started carving pumpkins..
 

And then we decorated the cats…they just loved it…

Normandy Beach was a rooster…
 

Ender was a Jester…


Kit was a Dinosaur…
   

And Caronna had on a bow tie…

We laughed and laughed….

Halloween Party at Lisa’s and Steve’s

Yes, I know it is Mardi Gras Monday and I am talking about Halloween, but I am being fashionably late….

Lisa and Steve threw their annual Halloween Party and I attended as a stick man! It was a last minute, pretty fun costume.

    

The party got bigger and dance-ier as the night went one. Thanks Lisa for having us! Sarah and I had a blast.
