An A.Ball Weekend! Houston Bound…

It was time for some Ball time. We finally synced our schedules and I hopped a flight to Houston to see her.

I arrived on a Friday. We grabbed lunch at a salad place and headed to her house. We relaxed and caught up. It was really fantastic to hang with her. Brian, her beau, grilled homemade pizzas for us and we ate like kings.

On Saturday, we did an Insanity workout together, went for a 2 or 3 mile walk, took a powernap and headed to Woodrow’s to watch the LSU game (vs. Towson).

After that “football game”, we headed to the Alabama alumni game watch to see Brian. His game started an hour later than ours so they were in the 3rd quarter when we arrived.

We walked into a bar full of crimson red. It was rather painful to see all of those Alabama fans and not yell “tiger bait” at them, but I behaved. They were actually very nice.

 

We hung out and closed down the Alabama tailgate. It actually pains me to type such things, but it is the truth.

We headed back to Ball’s house and crashed. I had an early(ish) flight out Sunday am.

Thank you Ball and Brian for a fabulous weekend! I can’t wait to see you both again!

A house divided.

November 6, 2012- Today is a big deal…

for two reasons:

1. It is Sarah and I’s EIGHT year anniversary! We met on this day eight years ago. Happy Anniversary SARAH!

It has been a wild ride. Thank you for being an amazing friend. Sunshine really does shine out of your rear :)

2. GO VOTE! The opportunity to elect the next president only happens once every for years. Exercise the right we have as US citizens. There are still plenty of countries that do not allow the people to decided how their country is run. We are lucky…exercise your right!

Ashley’s big move…

As many of you know, my sister and best friend, Ashley, moved to Atlanta last month to be with her fiancée, Andrew.

The day before she moved, we had a small gathering at my parents house to see her off.

Mom cooked and we watched the LSU game. Ashley was surrounded by some great friends to see her off.

 

Oddly enough, we did not take any family pictures.

Later that night, I helped Ashley pack up her car so they would be ready in the morning.

 

They boys were being very helpful…

The next morning, Ashley and Andrew headed to Atlanta with Caronna and Ender.
It is a new chapter in Ashley’s life and I am glad she is with Andrew. It has taken some getting used to not to have my Ashley next door, but I will survive. Doug and Andrew have been wonderful during the transition to the girls.

We now have Wednesday night Google Hangouts to see each other once a week and the plan is to see her once a month.

Ashley and Andrew have started a blog to chronicle their upcoming wedding. She actually blogged about her move if you want to read it here.

September Date! The Newlywed Game

September date night allowed us to stay in and play the newlywed game. The rules were we had to ask each other 5 questions and see how well we know each other.

We took it a step further and included the Do you know your Groom book for more questions. Doug had answered the 100 questions before the wedding in a spreadsheet. We broke out the book and spreadsheet to see how I would do.

We had our date night in the office. :) So romantic.

I have to say I was impressed with how many answers I knew in the groom book. I have a terrible memory, but surprised myself with being so doug knowledgeable. I WIN! :)

Sarah’s 30th birthday bash!

Sarah, my roommate/bestie/bridesmaid, turned 30 in September! She wanted to take it easy so we had a little party at The Shack to celebrate her big day.

We decorated and had some yummies. Sarah, Donnie and her parents had dinner reservations at 7 so our party started around 9 pm. It was very relaxing! We played spoons and had a great time.

Alex’s Birthday–the man, the legend

My sweet, fabulous brother celebrated his brithday in August. I gave him a shout out then and I will do it again now.

 

The birthday video with the noisemakers is here along with some other photos.

Alex is a wonderful brother. I am glad we continue to celebrate birthdays together as a family.

As I mentioned in his other birthday blog, we also laid most of the tile in his bedroom as his birthday present.
