Twins–Week 7

Norm started pretending to be a twin to get some love:

Here are my notes from Week 7:

Hazel looked at me and smiled.
Emma looked at Doug and smiled.
Emma started liking the swing.
They were truly looking at you.
Had our first successful walk outside in the stroller and they fell asleep.
Had my first 10k step day post baby.
Emma cried her first real tears.
I fed the girls alone for the first time and survived.
Hazel rolled from her stomach to her back.

…and just like that….they were 7 weeks old! They filled out their outfits much better now!

May 4 & 5, 2016–Our 4 year anniversary!

Our four year anniversary was finally here! We made it four long, wonderful years .

The night before our anniversary, we went out with friends to dinner and got showballs after. Poppi and Doc watched the girls while we were out. It was our first night out.

Here we are in the car and out for the snowballs.

The following day Doug gave me all of my anniversary gifts. The 4th year is “Fruit and Flowers” so doug got me so much awesomeness!

Here is one of my 2 new fig trees!

Here is one of my 8 new blueberry bushes! (and him eating the pepper I gave him.)

After he showed me my new plants (blueberries, figs, and 2 loquat trees), we headed to Doug’s volleyball game!

 

I got to watch our team play. It was great being out there. After they played, we headed to our favorite fancy restaurant for Cinco de Mayo – Izzo’s!

After we ate our burritos we headed to the car, took a photo with cinco and I gave Doug his anniversary gifts – all fruit and flower themed items.

Underwear, floaties for the pool and random items.

After that we went home and caught up on some sleep. It was a great anniversary – pretty low key. We are blessed that we could get out.

Twins–Week 6 (May 2016)

Here are the notes I took for week 6:

They started tracking us with their eyes.
We hear Emma giggle for the first time.
They started sleeping from 11 pm to 4 am ish.
They both hit 9 lbs.
I got my wedding ring back on!

My sweet girls were showered with so many gifts. See the beautiful bibs above!

We had lots of cuddle time. This is one of my favorite photos taken:

I finally got out for a walk for the first time since they were born. I walked half a mile on the levee and was pretty sore after that. It was the most exercise I had done in weeks.

It really is amazing how fast they grow.

Emma kinda looks like a sweet, old, bald man here? yeah?

She is still adorable to me!

I have to say that Doug was WAY better at swaddling the babies than I was. WAY. Also, I did not change a diaper for 3 weeks because of my recovery and because I was blessed with so much help.

During that week, we celebrated Doc’s birthday!

Thankfully everyone came here so we could be a part of it.

It was fun having the family here so much. Happy Birthday Doc!

That weekend, Emma and I attended a Derby party! We were dressed so fancy!

This sweet mama has since had her baby girl and Cam is beautiful!

That weekend we celebrated Andrew’s birthday (late) as they had been on a trip.

and Mothers day!

It was my first official mother’s day, but we were celebrating it the following weekend. It was just so hectic at home.
