Baby Rory is born!

My dear friend, Courtney, was ready to have baby Rory earlier than March 14, but he would not have it. :) Courtney and Ken went into the hospital on March 13 to check in to deliver baby Rory the following day.

I WAS SO EXCITED! They knew Rory was a boy, but no one knew the name. I was privy to the initials, but was SWORN to absolute secrecy. I am sure Courtney would have smacked me if I shared. :) I kept it to myself as promised.

I had been working on her wreath and “pin” gift all week long and was ready to unveil it for baby Rory.

I arrived at the hospital very early Thursday morning to visit before work. I was able to see Kenny and Courts before there were severe labor pains. I also gave them the special gifts I made for Rory. It was a very special time for me. :) (I will show you the gifts below…)

I hung out for a while, went to work and came back as soon as I could. While in the waiting room I got to hang out with some cool kids!

Courtney was a trooper! Kenny came out to tell us his name:

After some time, I got to sneak in and get my own photo of the little man. He was so perfect.

Welcome to a wonderful family Rory! You are one lucky, blessed little man. We are going to have such fun!

When Riley was born, I brought Courts a diaper wreath and was working on my design when Courtney told me she was planning on making one for Rory. I told her not to worry. I was already on it. Here is the wreath in all its glory:DSC_1781

In addition to the wreath, I wanted to make Courtney a gift. I was inspired to make a picture frame showing the family growing by one using safety pins. I know it sounds odd and I was not even sure it would be cool. I made it and really hoped Courts would like it. It is a little abstract.

Evidently, she loves it and I am so glad. :)

A few days after he was born, I got to visit Riley, Rory, Ken and Courts at home. I played with Bean and held Sprout for a bit. Here  is the proof (stolen from Courtney’s blog):

I can’t wait to see them again!

Love and Hugs, Lizzie
