National Sales Meeting–The Homestead in Virginia

I left January 11 to attend my National Sales meeting at The Homestead. This was the second NSM at The Homestead. Two years ago I did two different blogs: one here and one here.

This was a different meeting for a few reasons. First of all, my manager (Charlie) received word that his son-in-law passed away while at the meeting. Wheeler (Charlie’s son-in-law) had been battling cancer and while it was not a huge shock, it was quite sad. The whole team took it pretty hard.

Secondly, I found out one of my favorite leaders, Sharron Barnett, was retiring. Sharron is a very special lady and she happens to be the inventor/patent holder for lufenuron. Unless you work in Veterinary Medicine/Agriculture, you will probably not know what that is, but it is A BIG DEAL. It is one of the main ingredients in one of the products I represent.

I absolutely adore Sharron and was thrilled to find out they were having a retirement roast for her and another co-worker named Charlie.

Even Brad Pitt came to wish them well…IMG_0256

She had no idea what she was in for. There were many speakers on her and Charlie’s behalf. It was really sweet and touching. I might have cried a few times. IMG_0232

After the “roast”, both Sharron and Charlie had huge lines of fans to give hugs and special words.IMG_0235IMG_0236IMG_0237

Thirdly, I was awarded the 2013 District Rep of the Year for the Southern District. This is a huge honor and I have been working towards this award for the past 7 years. Sadly, Charlie could not be there to give me the award himself as I would have valued his words very much. Overall, I am quite honored and want to make my team stronger each day.

Finally, we launched a new product that is pretty freaking awesome so I have been quite busy.

I did not take many photos at this NSM (besides at the roast), but it was great to see some old friends and welcome back Katie T. I need to go work to make this year great.

Love and Hugs, Lizzie
