Saturday, May 5– Primping and Prep

Around 9:30 am, I started getting texts from my Callie, the baker making and decorating my cake, with pictures showing what she was working on. She was asking about some of my preferences as she was making the cake down in the kitchen of the JW. I went down to the kitchen 2 or 3 times to see her progress. It was fun to be involved with last minute decision the day of the wedding. She was working on making fondant flags that matched the flags on the invitations and the flags that were to hang in the foyer.

The suite was starting to get busy!

By 10:30 am, my parents stopped by to visit. While they were in the room, the flowers were delivered.

Then the Hair and Makeup Girls arrived and the madness officially began. Four ladies from Flawless Bride rolled in with beauty equipment and made themselves at home!

Ashley had her hair and makeup done in the first group as she went down to check on the ballroom and clarify décor questions. I was pretty relaxed once it all started moving.

I had a parfait for breakfast and it rocked.  :)
Soon after Flawless Bride arrived, our photographers and videographers arrived. Chaos ensued. :) We sent a photographer (Brad) and videographer (Chris) with the guys to capture what they were up to.

There was a moment where I remember Mom getting a phone call from Dad that he left his bow tie for the wedding in Hammond. I told her to tell him to go to Sacks and get a new one. I did not ask many questions as the suite was humming with activity and it was his problem at that point..not mine :).

Mom and I took a moment to place her mother’s rosary in my bridal bouquet. It was very special to have her rosary with me all day and on the alter that night.

Before it was my turn to get ready, Ashley arrived with some wedding gifts from Doug. He got me a pair of sapphire earrings (for my something blue!), traditional Mexican wedding tokens and the sweetest love note written on one of our flags!

Next up! What were the boys up to all day AND I finally get ready!

Love and Hugs, Lizzie
