Behind the scenes of the Wedding Invitation!

The wedding invitation design has officially been shared so I can tell some of the secrets.

The wedding flags were designed by an amazing artist named Lindsey (who will be attending the wedding). She lives in Maryland and designed these flags for me months ago.

Here are some of the details:

The goal of this flag was to incorporate a strong “Mexican flair” with our names and a New Orleans feel (such as: crawfish, fleur de lis, and of course a volleyball). This is Doug’s favorite flag!

We really wanted a flag that bolded the date and included some aspects of the church. She used crosses in the hearts and incorporated the actual designs of the windows of Immaculate Conception inside the circles on the bottom.  This is my favorite flag!

We asked for one more flag and told her to do whatever she wanted. She came up with this awesome design and even hid some fun elements in it. Can you find the NORC with the fork symbol? It is on all the printed invites! Lindsey just rocks. :)

These three flags were used on the wedding invitation and on the belly band (see above and below). They came out so fabulous! I have a feeling you might see them on a few more things later also.

Once we had the flags, Doug went to work. Ashley, Doug and Sarah helped me design the invite, draft card, response card and details card. After many proofs and revisions we finally had the printed invitations the week before my birthday! I was so excited it was all happening as planned.

The next step was to stuff and mail all the invites. (To be Continued…)

Love and Hugs, Lizzie
