Streaking in 2015

New year -> new year's resolutions.

I've got a few new year's resolutions that I've decided on for 2015, several of which I will admit out loud, and others I don't know whether I can complete, so I don't want to discuss them. One of the more entertainingly-named resolutions I have for 2015 is streaking!

Don't get too excited, though. I'll be doing one of the things featured in that picture, but not the most exciting ones you can think of from the thousand words this picture generates.

Streaking is something I read about in Runner's World magazine. The idea is to string together as many days as you can running at least a mile. I really liked this concept when I read it, so I decided to tack this on my usual resolution of 1000+ miles for the year. The streak knocks out a third of my miles, right off the bat!

5 days into the new year, I'm sticking to my streak, but I'm not sure how happy I am about it. There's something sweet about a rest day where you don't have to run at all.

On the other hand, a mile doesn't take but maybe 15 minutes start to finish in the cooler weather. All told, getting dressed and running one mile doesn't take but 10 minutes, and give me 5 minutes on the other side to cool down and get back to doing whatever it is I was doing before. I mean.. I could fit a mile streak in while waiting for food to cook.

I like the concept of this, and it seems very achievable. Though it could be a big pain in the ass if I get sick or have an incredibly busy day. 2015 will be the year my streak started. If I make it all year, maybe I'll keep it up even longer.

Other new year's resolutions I'll admit to -- 1100 miles to run in 2015 with an average of 120,000 steps every week of the year. If the others look like they might actually happen after about 3-6 months into this year, I might tell you about those, too. Until then...

We're going streaking!!!
