Bunko with the girls

Last Tuesday I joined a Bunko group! I was invited by my great friend Courtney.

I had never played bunko before and had no idea what to expect. I got to Courtney’s house early to have some Riley time. Once all the ladies arrived we ate and chatted (this appears to be the main reason to play bunko – both chatting and eating).

Once we were fed and beveraged, we headed into the living room to play this bunko. As not to be blind sighted, I watched a youtube video on bunko so I would not look like a complete dork…which I clearly am Smile. This nice lady showed me (and now you) exactly how to play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WCILuM5vrI

We started the game and played 4 rounds. I had a blast! I came in 3rd place and was quite impressed by my dice skill (luck). Courtney won and took the pot home. Lucky girl.

The things I learned:

1. I cannot conversate (I know it is not a word…just go with it) and play bunko at the same time. I can do one or the other, but not both.

2. The point of bunko is to hang out and chat, but my pea brain can only handle playing the game. (see number 1)

3. I am not a great score keeper. I was at the “high table” and was the score keeper. The score keeper at that particular table is in charge of telling all the tables when to stop the round. I forgot to tell everyone to stop when our table hit 21 points and we played until almost 35 points until someone commented on how long the game was…whoops!

4. BUNKO IS FUN… well, I guess it depends on who you play with.

Thanks for inviting me Courts!

Love and Hugs, Lizzie
