Bridesmaids–Volume II–Courtney

For my next unsuspecting victim, I decided to ask Courtney during our restaurant club dinner. Her book arrived weeks before, but I wanted to save it for the dinner for many reasons. First of all, her entire family (except Kenny) would be there, and I wanted to share it with them also. Secondly, she would not think it would be weird at all to take pictures during the dinner.

I waited for dessert and had the waiter deliver the book to her in front of her whole family. I came over to watch her open it and look through it. (I was actually asking two girls that night so I was between the two of them. I even placed our tables next to each other so I could hop back and forth.) Courtney and I have taken A LOT of pictures together over the years.  As she looked through it, I had Jeff (her brother) take pictures of her looking through it.

On the last page was a sweet note and the last line says: “Will you be my bridesmaid?” When she got to the last page, she said, “Awwww” and closed the book. I was like…uhhh….did she read it all? Did she read the last part? As I stood there frozen, she looked up at me and said, “Yes.”  I guess she did read it all! Smile

The History:

I met Courtney through a mutual friend, Scott H, while tailgating at an LSU game. He then invited me camping with their group of friends. While camping, Courtney and I became closer friends. As time went on, we started chatting all the time and hanging out every Thursday at the Bulldog on Canal. Our friendship continued to grow as we vacationed together. We went to Colorado twice, the LSU v Tennessee Game, The LSU v Ole Miss game and many other fun places.

The biggest honor in our friendship was in 2007 when Courtney asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding (What!?!) and I was lucky enough to throw her a baby shower before Riley was born.

She is such a wonderful friend that I am keeping in my life forever. I have also weaseled my way into her family’s tradition of Cookie Day.

Courts, thank you for being awesome. I am so honored you have agreed to be in my wedding. I love you!

Love and Hugs, Lizzie
